Claude Gervaise--France

This week’s music is more than 500 years old!  These dances by Claude Gervaise are typical of dance music during the Renaissance.  This particular recording provides the listener with the opportunity to hear a variety of instruments characteristic of the Renaissance.  There are stringed, wind, percussion and keyboard instruments.  You’ll notice that each of these nine short dances varies in rhythms and tempo.
