After reviewing quarter
notes and rests and paired eighth notes and SO & MI pitches, students created their own simple compositions using these concepts.
First they created an 8 beat pattern, then
they put a pitch in each circle. Finally they illustrated their song.
The teacher played
each composition on MIDI
keyboard into Finale Notepad music software and printed them.
